ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Douglas County Pride seeks a volunteer Programming Director who will have overall responsibility for the resources we provide for the community, including community groups and information requests. The Programming Director should be a strong and collaborative leader and organizer with excellent written and oral communications skills.

 

This is a working board. There is no paid staff. This role will be responsible for oversight of the resources we provide as well as some day-to-day operations.

 

MISSION
The mission of Douglas County Pride is to build a supportive community for LGBTQIA+ residents of Douglas County and surrounding areas. We do this through community building, advocacy, and service.

 

VISION
To transform Douglas County into a diverse and inclusive community for LGBTQIA+ people of all identities, where everyone feels seen, heard, and that they belong.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Study the current systems and consider improvements

  • Ensure location and volunteers are booked for all monthly community groups

  • Ensure volunteers understand their role

  • Upkeep of both public and private resource lists

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience interacting with LGBTQIA+ youth 

  • Reside in Douglas County Pride’s service area

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Demonstrated support of the LGBTQIA+ community

 

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Leadership experience in personal or work life

  • Knowledge of the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)

 

TERM REQUIREMENTS
Two years

EXPECTED TIME COMMITMENT

2-4 hours per week
