ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Douglas County Pride seeks a volunteer Programming Director who will have overall responsibility for the resources we provide for the community, including community groups and information requests. The Programming Director should be a strong and collaborative leader and organizer with excellent written and oral communications skills.
This is a working board. There is no paid staff. This role will be responsible for oversight of the resources we provide as well as some day-to-day operations.

The mission of Douglas County Pride is to build a supportive community for LGBTQIA+ residents of Douglas County and surrounding areas. We do this through community building, advocacy, and service.
VISION
To transform Douglas County into a diverse and inclusive community for LGBTQIA+ people of all identities, where everyone feels seen, heard, and that they belong.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Study the current systems and consider improvements

Ensure location and volunteers are booked for all monthly community groups

Ensure volunteers understand their role

Upkeep of both public and private resource lists
REQUIREMENTS
-
Previous experience interacting with LGBTQIA+ youth

Reside in Douglas County Pride’s service area

Excellent communication skills
-
Demonstrated support of the LGBTQIA+ community
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Leadership experience in personal or work life

Knowledge of the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)
TERM REQUIREMENTS
Two years
EXPECTED TIME COMMITMENT
2-4 hours per week
